Ma kasvasin üles külma sõja ajal.
Seda ei olnud eriti raske mõista.
Inimesed, täpselt nagu meie, aga teistsuguste ideedega, võitlesid võimu ja maailmavalitsemise pärast.
Tänapäeval minnakse sõtta, sest Jumal käsib!
Seda on tõeliselt raske mõista!
Maailma võimsaima riigi kristlasest president koos oma väikeste kristlike sõpradega Euroopas on väitnud, et nad sõdivad, sest Jumal käskis neil seda teha!
Ja teisel pool rindejoont on moslemid, kes võitlevad oma Jumala eest!
See on palju keerulisem kui külm sõda!
Mis on Jumal? Kas Ta on olemas? Kui jah, siis milline Ta välja näeb? On Ta mees või naine?
Ajalugu tunneb paljusid sõdu, mida peeti väidetavalt sellepärast, et Jumal seda nõudis — ehkki keegi ei suutnud tõestada või näidata, et Ta tegelikult sõda tahab.
Need joonistused on minu seisukohavõtt sellel ja muudel teemadel, mis mulle meie maailma juures ei meeldi ja mida ma tahan kritiseerida... Ja mõned neist on lihtsalt naljakad pildid!
Mõttel kasutada Meest Ristil ei ole mingit pistmist ühe teise mehega, kes tükk aega tagasi risti löödi; ja üleüldse ei olnud ta ainus — temaga samal ajal hukati sel moel sadu tuhandeid inimesi.
Mehe Ristil rakendamine võib olla väike reklaamitrikk tähelepanu võitmiseks, aga ma pean tunnistama, et ristilöömine on mulle alati huvi pakkunud!
Mõned on isegi öelnud, et see sari kujutab ühe mehe elu... Ja et see mees olen mina ise!

Siguršur Örn Brynjolfsson - Siggi - SÖB
Born 19/9 1947 in Reykjavik Iceland

STUDIES
1964-1968 Studied graphic design in the Icelandic Collage og Art and Craft ICAC
1968-1969 Worked as graphic designer in and advertising agency and continued studies in
ICAC in painting, drawing and graphics.
1960-1970 Studied painting, drawing and graphics at the Academie van Beeldende Kunst
in Rotterdam Holland.

WORK STUDIES
1986 Guest artist for one month at the International Cermic Studio in Kecskemet, Hungary
1989 Guest artist for the summer at the Pannonia animation studio in Kecskemet, Hungary
1990 Guest artist for the summer at the Soumenlinna Art Center in Helsinki, Finland

WORK
1970-1990 Worked in Iceland and abroad as graphic designer, illustrator, cartoonist, animator
and animation film director.
1982-1993 Teacher and department leader in graphic design at ICAC
1990- Concentrated on work in animation as director, designer, writer and producer and
continued drawing cartoons.
1992-1994 Head of a student group from the department of graphic design in ICAC that took
part in VARDE, a Nordic Design Programme. The group of eight students made
animation films in the Dauka animation studio in Riga, Latvia.
1991 Guest teacher for one month at UHIA in Helsinki Finland
1999 Short seminars and teaching animation at Narration Center of Moving Images in
Gotland, Sweden and ICAC
1993 Moved to Estonia where he lives now and works in animation and cartoons.
